Ted Nugent hunting/field knife

Most of you have already seen this knife pictured below, but here's the "rest of the story," on the piece.

The design is named the "NUGE" and is a collaboration between the RAT (Randall's Adventure & Training) team and a good friend of ours, rock and roller and avid sportsman Ted Nugent. He gave initial approval of the prototype today so we can now make this information public.

Ted is a master hunter and knows what he's looking for in a field knife. The design concept was initiated during this year's SHOT show in Las Vegas. Ted explained what he wanted in a knife and we did the design work. Ronald Clark made the design into prototype reality and now it will go to Ontario/Queens hands for future production. We are not sure what the projected in-stock dates will be yet. Final agreements have to be worked out and everything finalized, but we see no roadblocks.

The production knives will be exactly the same as shown here with a few exceptions. The cream colored handle slabs will have the signature Ted Nugent black zebra striping on them. The leather pouch sheath will also have the Ted Nugent logo embossed in the leather. Other than that everything will be exactly as the prototype pictured.

Hey Jeff...

Well someones Brain was working that day...
smart move getting uncle Ted involved..

I was wondering when someone was going to do that...

What a Great little knife you guys have there.. Ron did an Excellent job as usual on that proto.. Sweet....

Can't wait to see the finished product...

BTW..

I'm a huge Whackmaster fan.. not only the music,, but the also the philosophy and attitude behind the man....
There isn't too much I dislike about uncle Ted...

"Above The Canyon Wall, Strong Eyes Did Glow,,It was The Leader of the Land, Baby! The Great White Buffalo" - Ted Nugent

ttyle

Eric...

Nope, the proto is 440C. There was several options I could have chosen from and all were stainless. 440C was the best of the lot.

Back a few years ago Ted sold the Victorinox farmer in his catalog, which was the only place I had seen them at the time. I got one, naturally, and it has the Ted Nugent signature and howling wolf/coyote anodized on the red alox handle. This is my most prized SAK for sure.

What can I say...the man knows what he likes when it comes to hunting...he's done enough of it. ;)

When I was a senior in HS this girls had a dad who was a bigshot with Bass Pro Shops. Her dad and Ted Nugent went hunting together sometimes. I tried and tried to get here to make them take me... alas, she hated me. I wish I could have met Ted though.

The times we have talked, met, and communicated with Ted he has always been an absolute straight shooter. He's passionate about his hunting, guns, politics, etc. - dosen't mind saying what's on his mind and has an honor about him that most folks in his place would never have.

Our team gets along good with folks that have that mindset since we could give the first damn about pleasing the masses. I don't care for people that can be led around by the nose or those that choose to believe in something because everyone else does. It seems like most folks though need a preacher to preach to them and a congregation to be a member of.

The Nuge kicks butt! Saw him in concert numerous times. One of my favorite Nugent tunes is "Bound and Gagged" about the Iran hostage situation years ago. Strong tune that would be good today too.

Love his book and philosophy too. Too bad he doesn't have an MTV show that shows a rocker with real family values and shows guns, knives and hunting in a positive light!

Think I may get one of those just for those facts! Nuge for President! :D

Jeff, not all members of congregations follow the sheeple. As far as needing to be a member it can be no different than hanging out here or at your group. Good congregations tend to be people with like mindsets who learn from,do things with and support each other. As far as needing a preacher... it seems to me that you preach to your students... I mean you teach them, show them, care for them etc... I as a member of a church really do not care if I please others- I want to please the Father however, He does want me to treat others as He would treat them. I learn from my pastor who teaches from the BiBle and You teach from nature. Both systems have certain "laws" and there are benefits and consequences to be paid depending on what you believe,do and don't do. Yes you can get by sometimes without either although survival is often better if you learn the rules and trips often better when not taken alone... Churches as with survival schools differ from one another and some are indeed worthy and some are just outright junk... BTW I saw the Nuge knife at blade and I want one other than the color choice- It was a nice field knife :D I liked the prototypes colors and all.... It was also nice meeting you and your friend at the bladeshow.

Glad you liked the knife. Sorry about the color choices but that's the way it is unles Brother Ted decides differently ;)

I can agree with you on your assessment of congregations. The main reason for my agreement is if it works for you then that's all that counts. I wasn't really talking about religion. It was more of a generalization. I don't go to church and I am a member of no religion, so I wouldn't know how that fits in. I still hold firm to my belief in independence and doing what works for YOU instead of following a crowd.

Jeff, Saw the knife at the Blade Show, it looked even better
in person than in the pictures. No problem, I saw a lot of good looking knives. Then I made the mistake of picking it up. It feels even better than it looks. Please post as soon as they are available for sale. I can live with the stripes on the scales, I want that knife!:D

We're hoping for release at SHOT. Here's where the paper pushing comes in though. Ted and our team came up with the concept. He approved the prototype and approved the use of his name for the intro at Blade. From this point it's basically out of our (RAT's) hands, except for final approval of handle zebra design and sheath. Agreements will have to be finalized between Ted Nugent and the production maker: Ontario/Queen. This is already in the works but also understand that time frames can be an issue. Ted has a pretty good tour schedule this year. In fact he's in Europe now for the next week or so.

The knife does look better "in person" than the photos I took. I'm going to get the Blade show sample out to Terrill Hoffman for pro shots pretty soon. It even feels better than it looks. When you put it in your hand it fits, even when choking up into the choil. Ted wanted all of this in the knife because he not only wanted a good looking knife but a real field user as well. He's probably removed more hide than most folks alive so he knows what he's talking about. I think he has a real winner here. One of Ontarios distributers called me today and said he has received a tremendous amount of calls on the NUGE knife since Blade. Everyone is wanting one NOW.

We will keep everyone posted on the progress of this project.

If you want to drop a comment on the knife then use Ted's web site at http://www.tednugent.com

That blade looks great! It looks all-business, and from what I see it looks like it would work wonderfully. It's got some great design features! :D

Sorry if I missed it...any word on steel and price?

The steel in the prototype is 440C and I believe that is going to be used in the production model as well. I think that I had heard a price point of something like $49 but please do not quote me on that. Jeff may or may not be able to answer as he is headed for Peru.

Thanks for the reply. The knife looks great, and the pricepoint (if its anywhere around that) is unbelievable! I might have to pick one up when they come out :D

Brother Ted is a good witness in more ways than one. Because of his popularity and accomplishment(s) in the eyes of the masses, he can open doors and speak to ears that would otherwise be unavailable. He can share the light and be an ambassador of outdoorsman and sportsmen.

BTW, nice knife too.
