From Codger's research, we have learned the Ted Williams' name was marketed much the same as any athlete today. Sears put his name on any piece of sporting equipment that it could.

Anybody have pics of any Ted Williams "stuff"?

Here's a beauty that I had to have. Mint pieces with etch in tact are harder and harder to come by. (Ha-ha, the bolster is so shiny, you can see my hand and the camera, along with the ceiling tiles. I guess Nat'l Geo. will not be calling me anytime soon)

By way of contrast, here is another 735, though not as sweet as the TW model:

This is an early 15OT Schrade Walden etched for Sears. Note the box does not yet bear the name "Deerslayer", the sheath is the first type, and the knife is a patent pending marked one, circa late 1963/ 1964. The Craftsman tangstamped versions came later.

I thought you guys could use this while searching for more stuff with Teddy Ballgame's name on it.

It was made for Sears...by Coleman (who once owned Western Knives)...with Ted's name on it. So it fits here...in a round (like a baseball) about way. :D

I believe that Sears actually bought Williams' fishing tackle company, and that's how he ended up working with them.

Let's see some more!

Very cool stuff guys. I especially like the lantern, and stuff like that. It's interesting to see all the different stuff they might put his name on, like the "Ted Williams Porta-Potty!"

These still pop up for sale once in a while:

There were also several Winchester Shotguns sold as Ted Williams. IIRC, sears even offered a small aluminum boat with his name on it at one point.

That is a nice knife.... dang, I don't have a Schrade rigging knife, you know I like (and use) rigging knives.

I don't have anything with Ted Williams name, then again I am more of a Yogi Berra fan.

Some 20 years ago I jumped into the field after a Mexican league baseball game and got Leo Rodriguez to sign me a baseball.

Cool cell phone theme...

No problem, Bill...that works for me

Heck, Don Luis, I barely know how to turn my phone on, and here you are making cell phone pages...:)

OK,
Even though Williams is in the Fishing Hall of Fame...with his name on fishing tackle, outboards, long guns, and knives, among other things...he was a fair baseball player as well, who wasn't always thrown out at the plate.

Here is kind of an "Americana" type ad...when kids still admired baseball players and fighter pilots, instead of...oh, nevermind.
