Teflon pivot washers

I recently took apart one of my knives (an Offgrid flipper). Along with the bronze washers sandwiching the blade at the pivot there were very thin Teflon (nylon?) washers. So thin that one of the washers was basically shredded. I reassembled without the Teflon washers, thinking that using a shredded washer wouldn’t be good. Knife seems to work just fine, nice and smooth. Any harm in eliminating the Teflon washers?

I’ve done it to a few cold steels. Sometimes it affects the smoothness and sometimes it doesn’t. If it’s functioning fine you’re good.
