Hello,

Someone on youtube mentioned using teflon tape instead of lock tight because it holds better with less of a chance of striping screws. Has anyone used teflon tape instead of blue lock tight? How did it work? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

I used it at work, tiny amount is needed to the screws we're talking about,i dont use it because i have red loctite,i have used green, both red and green are like cement,i will never be able to get a handle to come apart without heat when i apply either of those, blue however isnt as strong.

Well known idea, and it works fine. I like it better only because it's cleaner (i.e., it's quicker to remove from the threads than locktite).

I like it better. You can adjust the pivot without breaking the bond of loctite and having to reapply. Plus you don't have to wait for it to dry. I have also found that unless you flex the blade some that you can adjust the pivot and with some use it will get looser. With the teflon tape you can just snug it up a little.
