Teflon to Bronze?

I have an original Spartan with Teflon washers, but the new one I just got with BD-1 has bronze. When did Cold Steel start doing this?

Since 2012-2013ish they started putting bronze with thin layer of teflon in front of it. The first thing I always do when I got a new CS folder is to remove the paper thin teflon washer between the bronze and the blade
