Hi, since you were asking for opinions on teflon washers thought I would ask if you have found a place that sells them? I'd like to try using them in one of my folder in hopes of getting that silky smooth feeling, but I'm not sure where they can be purchased.

Teflon will reduce friction, but if you want glass like action you need glas like surfaces.
How is your knife stub tang area finished? Is it perfectly mirror polished?
Are the liners polished to the same degree?
Is the tiny sphere in the liner lock free to rotate well, or does it gets stuck every now and then?
Is torque on the screws that form the blade fulcrum properly set, or is the balde overtightened?
All these things have their impact on knife opening smoothness.

I have had great success with knives that had Phosper Bronze washers in them. It's a naturally slippery alloy that provides great smoothness. Many custom makers use them as well as higher end production companies like Chris Reeve.

You can purchase teflon washers from either Texas Knifemakers Supply or Koval Knives.

Good luck!
