Tek Klip vs. G-Clip?

I'm looking at clips to add to my small fixed blades and am trying to decide between the two. Anyone have experience with both? Thoughts? Some comparison pics maybe?

I want something pretty versatile, want to be able to use it IWB and out, with and without a belt. Does one excel more at this then the other?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance:thumbup:

I would vote for the g-clip, I have used both quite a bit.
The tec-clip will work with bigger belts but they get sprung even though they are plastic. And they are as big if not bigger than a large tech-loc.
I am really liking the g-clips.

Best bet is to get both and try them out for yourself, everybody's tastes are different.

TekLoks do not work IWB, and definitely need a belt. The Spyderco G-Clips will work both with or without a belt, and IWB. The are designed to fit belts up to 1.5" double thickness gun bet, but I advise you to thread the belt through the clip rather than clipping over the belt. That will prevent springing. They are based on the handmade G-Clips I've been making for years, but I put extra lip on the bottom of my handmades to prevent people from being lazy and over-springing the clip. Since Spyderco started making them, I hardly do my handmades anymore. Contact me if you want some good prices on the Spyderco G-Clips.

Thanks for the info. I'll shoot you an email If I decide to go with the G-clip.

Are there any steel spring clips out there that would meet my criteria? The clips TOPS uses on there smaller blades look like they'd work but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I've used Tandy leather, and similar styled, belt clips in the past but without a belt they tend to pull out with the sheath on the draw.

Again, thanks for the help:thumbup:

I can and will provide testimonial to the G-clip. After Mike turned me on to them it's all I ever use. Works well for all carry modes that you described. Only thing I would suggest is to experiment with your IWB w/o belt. I've run into an issue after losing some weight and having my shorts sag on me. My sheaths tend to stick to me and pull lift off my waistband. Mind you, this doesn't with all of my clothes, just a few.

Anyways if you're looking for variety, this site has lots of clips, I modeled many of my clips (when I used to make them myself) after some on that site. But now, I just buy G-clips.

Well as I was looking at both I stumbled upon a new G-clip on amazon for $2.11 plus a few bucks for shipping, so my hand kinda got force with this:D I mean, for that price I couldn't say no.

Looking forward to giving it a try:thumbup:

Thanks for the input fellas
