tek-lok frustration.

It's always bugged me that tek-loks on my kydex sheath's are only attached on one edge, so they have that annoying gap and flex that just makes me think the chicago screws are gonna break off.

This bug anyone else? Any ideas how to make it better?

An idea I had was to get someone to make me like a kydex bridge that took two screws on each side to fix it to the sheath, then the tek-lok would mount to that, centered, with 4 screws. I've heard of people getting some other kind of loop thing with their kydex sheath's other than tek-lok's, but i haven't seen what it is, so if anyone can post some pics that would be awesome.

I do not care for the tek-lok on larger knives,
here is a dropleg:D

Mine attach to three holes in a molded out part of the sheath.
Everyone does it differently.
Who ever made your sheath will probable tweak it the way you want.
The kydex holding on the legstrap on my b11 sheath is what you need on the back of yours to mount the tek-lok on.

A kydex bridge would work you just have to make sure it conforms to the shape of the sheath or it will put pressure on it possibly causing problems with the fit of the knife.

While this didn't use a tek-lock, here's one solution I followed to avoid having only two attachment points. Not the most beautiful thing but very strong.
BTW I'm not a fan of tek-locks although they do have their place.

I should really get some kydex and tinker i guess. Thanks for the pics, thats a good idea as well.

I used to love the things but I seem to be getting increasingly frustrated with them. I just bought one of the new, latest generation of improved Tek-Loks. In the package there were four posts, three rubber spacers, and ONE screw!

Now that would drive me crazy.

I still like tech locks. I used to worry about the strength, but have never had a problem in years. Even on my big knives.

i despise tekloks.

1. their thickness creates an annoying gap between the knife/gun and the body.
2. they never really sit right on my waist.

I do like how knives sit on my hip with a tech lock.

I am what you would call "rounder" in the waist, and the tech lock gives a bit of stand off for my love handles!

I do think, my bigger knives, that if you hooked up on something, you could probably do some damage.

I would like a version that was anchored on both sides.

I'm just going to take this opportunity to say Steelnuts sheaths and drop leg designs are awesome. My skinny Ash sheath is top notch.
