Is there a web site with pictures that I can go to? I know that it's some sort of fastening system, but I've even googled it and all I get are products advertised that use it, but nobody has a picture of the actual system itself so that I can see how it works.

Thanks.

Blade-Tech (www.blade-tech.com) has a picture of the large and small Tek-Lok's (look under "Hardware"). It's essentially two pieces of plastic hinged together so it can be clamped over a belt or strap. There's an adjustible stop between the two pieces to allow it to be adjusted for different widths and a locking piece you can insert so it can't unlatched accidentally. There's multiple screw holes (which are all spaced evenly) so whatever it's mounted to can easily be hung/dangled/suspended in a variety of positions -- although it's best set up for 90 degree changes. There's small and large versions. I think the small works for up to 1-1/2" and the large for 1-1/4" to 2-1/2".

Overall, I think it works really well, but it adds some thickness to a sheath/holster (about 1/4"). Depending on how it's mounted/used, because it sets the sheath/holster off the body a bit, it can allow the top end to rotate out a bit (YMMV on this one). When adjusted properly and attached to a fairly stiff belt/strap, the sheath/holster doesn't shift or turn in use. It's also very secure, especially with the locking piece in place.

Hope this helps...

I also wanted to add that a lot of makers construct their sheaths with holes set for correct spacing for a Tek-lok, even if they don't advertise it. So far, a Mini Tek-lok has fit on a BM Tether and EKI La Griffe, I'm sure there are more.
