tek-lok question

I've never had a sheath with a tek-lok before. I was wondering can the tek-lok be closed like if I tried to clip it on a pocket or does it have to close around something like on a belt for instance?

I have seen pictures online of people positioning the tek lok over a pocket or pants seam. I don't know if they were just posing that way or if they actually carry anything like that. If clipped over fabric like that, the fabric is in the locking mechanism. This means that the lock is not very secure, if you can even get it to lock at all, and could be popped open by tugging.

I would suggest only ever using it on a belt, webbing, etc.
