Tekna Handle Retracting Knife

Back in the 1980's my wife gave me a Tekna knife as a birthday gift. It was the size of a ballpoint pen and had a pocket clip so you could carry it on your shirt pocket. It was made of stainless steel and Zytel plastic. It had a red button on the top that when pushed caused the handle around the blade to retract into the upper part of the knife. The blade was only about 2.5" long but was sharpened and partially serrated on both sides. I had carried the knife through airports in Europe and the US but then in Cinncinatti OH a blue-haired x-ray machine employee told me they would not let me on the flight with the knife. I had two choices, miss the flight or leave the knife with them. I had to catch the flight, I didn't have a self-addressed envelope to mail the knife back to my home so I left the knife.
I want to get a Tekna knife like that back again!
Does anyone know what the knife is called or where I can get one?
Thank You!

And, cross posting one's question/topic (between several forums) is considered bad manners.
Wouldn be a mess if everyone did it.

Good luck in finding the Tekna knife, if you find one please let us know where

The knife is called the Tekna Micro knife
I have been trying to find one myself to no avail. Here is their address
Tekna/Alpec

I have a Tekna Microknife sitting in my safe. No box, but I only carried it in my jacket pocketa couple of times. I would be agreeable to a trade for it if someone were interested.

I have a Tekna Micro Knife ca. 1988, but it is not the exact model described. Mine is a single sided blade without serrations. It functions as described: the plastic sheath that surrounds the blade retracts in to the handle of the knife when the button at the butt-end of the knife is pressed. My button is gray, though, not red. However, unfortunately, the guts of my knife like to come out. Something about the way the internal mechanism is supposed to click into the handle has failed and now the whole thing is loose. It's too bad, the knife used to be kind of neat.
A year or more ago, I lost a Tekna boot knife while surf-kayaking. It was the model with five holes through the handle -- the single slab of steel kind of knife that I love. I went 'round to all the local dive shops and could not find a replacement; then one guy told me that Tekna had gone out of business. Is that true? Has anyone had any success in contacting them? They used to make such cool stuff: the Extra Edge, the boot knife I lost... I even have a red L.E.D. flashlight keychain from back around 1990! It seems a shame that their products are not around anymore. I used to see the Tekna Boot Knife in the Sporty's Pilot Shop catalog, but no more...

peacefuljeffry, there is a new company that makes those tekna dive/river knives. Do a search for ocean reef (i think). I have a link at work. will post it on monday. They only make the plastic sheath, not the leather.
