I am just wondering if anyone has any tekna knives, or any experience with them. most specificaly the T-2000 micro knife and the creditcard knife. i would also like to see/get a hold of the booklets for both. Does anyone have any idea about legality of either in canada. thanks lots

I have one of the Credit Card knives. It's an old one. I've probably had it for 15 years. It is double edged so it's carry would be questionable most places.

I bought the single edge credit card knife at a gun show a few years back, it's a great little low profile cutter, surprisingly tough. On a lansky, it takes a scalpel-like edge  . Not the newest thing around but a cool little blade nonetheless.:D

Here's a pic of mine.

As far as legality goes for the micro, since it really is just a fixed blade as long as it meets the fixed blade regulations in Canada then it'll be all right. That's just my opinion, though.

I have a tekna micro knife I got on Ebay. When I got it the sheath wouldn't retract, however I found the blue prints on the web and as it turns out there is a "Y" shaped gray plastic spring inside that got all bent to one side. I took it apart and reshaped it with a heat gun and some ice water, works like a charm now and it holds an impresive edge.My only gripe is that the pocket clip is at the top by the button so I find it doesn't sit well in my shirt pocket, It tends to slide around, so it sits ontop of my desk in my "IRON CHEF" coffee mug to open letters. It is fun to play with though. Check Ebay I see at least two of them sell a month.

Cool. Where did you get the blue prints. also my credit card knife sticks harshly once the blade is about 1 cm out, any one have the same problem/ solution.

you can get a knock off version of the tekna credit card knife at
(http://www.bestlaserpointers.com) for about 21.95. I have one they call it a(edge-tek written on the case of the knife) but its identical to the tekna in single edge form.I managed to get it to shave hair but I had to modify it, when the blade is exposed the edge
stopped 1/2 an inch before the base. I reshaped it and its perfect know. The tekna micro-knife blue prints can be found at (http://www.donrearic.com/tekna.html) he also has the specs for the credit card knife and has info on the legal issues that made them cancel the micro knife. Like I said before check ebay. I've seen both models at least once or twice a month., Thats where I got mine and just got a tekna hidden edge with the skeleton blade brand new in a box never used.Watch out though, I've seen the micro knife go for anywhere between 40$-125$.Hope the info helped

Hey just so you know there are two tekna micro knives for auction on ebay as of 2/8/04...good luck

if we're talking about the retractable "sheath" version, I've had two: one exploded and the other is still doing fine... but, I can't carry it in the state Of WA as it's both a fixed blade and double edged.:(
I also have several of their little keychain knives - if anybody wants a 1" knife to keep handy, these are the best... but, once again, it's a fixed blade so I can't carry it in Seattle...
And I'll tell ya, the keychain version makes for one heck of a throwing knife... just don't believe Tekna's hype that they are indestructable - I've broken the handles on four of them... throwing them!;)

I have a slightly used one that a friend gave me when her father died. He had taken it with him on trips throughout South America and Asia. He used it to cut up fruit and when I got it, the sheath would retract but it would not lock in place when extended. I soaked it in warm soapy water and now it is functional. It doesn't fit my needs so I've been thinking about finding a new owner for it.
