Hey guys. I am pretty new to spyderco knives but I absolutely love them. I bought my first(g-10 delica)last October and have bought 6 more since then. How do you guys find out that a print run is going to happen? I have an order in for a carpenter para 2 that I may get in 2-3 weeks but am afraid that I will not get it. The para 2 is my current favorite EDC. I would loved to have known about it a little earlier so that I could have been sure to get it. Is there a way to know about the sprint runs before they are released? Thanks for the help guys. I want to make sure I get in on the next one early.

P.S.-I had been turned off by the endura for some reason for a long time but broke down and bought one a few days ago. That sucker is one bad ass slicer! I really like it.

they put most of the sprint runs in the catalog. others just pop out of nowhere and are usually announced on the forums.

Yep, here or on the spyderco.com forum, as soon as I hear one is "in the works" meaning several months down the road I email a dealer to be put on a pre-order list as opposed to waiting until a pre-order list is up on the dealers website, though especially if its a dealer exclusive sometimes you don't find out until its up already, like the m4 manix 2.

As has been said, checking out the PDF version of the 2011 catalog and keeping an eye on this forum as well as Spyderco's factory forum should keep you abreast of most upcoming releases, including the Sprints. But, as also has been noted, some of the dealer exclusives aren't publicized until they're in the sponsoring dealer's hands.

Finding out about sprints is always a bit tricky, and I guess thats part of the fun:D...though a bit frustrating at times.

There is a New Product Announcements section on the Spyderco Factory site, but its not been a great source of info.
However they just hired a new guy to specifically deal with handling new product info, so hopefully this will improve.
Apparently some info is posted on Facebook and Twitter.
Knifecenter also has a page for pre-orders, which can give you a hint what is coming.
The Spyderco catalog seems the least helpful, while some are mentioned, there is usually lot more during the year.

Up till now, this forum and the Spyderco one have been the best sources of infomation.
