Hey guys,

Can someone fill me in on the history of the ASH, please.

How many versions are there of this blade?

I have heard of ASH, ASH1 and the skinny ASH.

Are the first two the same knife?

Of the skinny and 'fat' versions, which is 'better' and why?

Thanks!

There are actually 4: the original back in the early 90s was called a Steel heart I made from A2 steel... you very rarely ever see them and they are $$$$$$$$$ Around last New years came teh Anniversary Steel Heart also know as ASH1. that is .320 thickness, and the ASH1 LE, which is satin (shiney finish) that was .22 in thickness and only came in tigerhide canvas grips; Finally came the Skinny Ash, which is .187 thickness, but all have mag handles which makes them feel very light and good in the hand.. ASH1's came from Busse bombat and Skinny's came from Busse comat shop. You also have a large variety of Busse custom ASH1s, which are usually .22 thickness with some wild blade cuts and handles.. hope this helps..

Basics

CG anniversary steel heart .320

ash le .220

skinny ash like.200 fully convex ground----Jerry said it was his favorite

all same model with varying thicknesses options etc

THis was a chance to let folks that werent around for the original 6" SH-1 when it came out late 80's-- early 90's I think.

Get the truth from Cobalt, Ducci , Tony G, Papathud and other collectors of the oldies

The one I have my eye on has a double cut finish, but its not skinny.

If Jerry likes the skinny that sounds like the one to get!!
