i have a chance to trade my batac LE for a swatmandu, i like the batac but i find it to be pretty single purpose(i use it to split wood for my wood burning stove)
just kinda want to get a few opinions on the swatmandu, i really want a blade thats a little more well rounded, what have yall used your swatmandu for and how much do yall love them.
is the proposed trade fair value? im not too much of a Busse guy.
and last question is about handle materials the swatmandu has tanker g10 and my batac has micarta tiger hide(think thats what its called) i really like the canvas handles and im a little worried i wont like the g10.

The fuller ruins it, for me; but it is a popular knife.
As far as the knife you've been offered, I believe you'll find that tanker (grey) is the blade color. Double check with the other party on the G10 color - the usual options are black, blue & black, green and black, tan and black, or red and black. (Other options may have been available, depending on when/how purchased)

The BATAC is comparable in size to the SMD - much as I like RMDs, in general, I don't think you'd be gaining anything in that trade. Your BATAC is a pretty well rounded knife - use it for more things, and I think you'll agree. (Due to the size, it won't be much of a chopper...but neither would the SMD)

The ONLY DRAWBACK to the swatmandu is the double cut finish. It's the best feeling busse handle to me

Both are great knives.

The Swatmandu is great to carry.

I own one and also have two INFIdu's in that same size category.

The BATAC is more knife in my opinion.

The Swatmandu won't lend itself to batoning wood or other heavy duty uses.

I believe the Swatmandu was a less costly knife new.

I personally would not trade a BATAC with tiger hide for a SWATmandu. And I'm a huge fan of the RMD/SMD variants.
