I've been looking at these for sometime now but never had the chance to get 1 in hand, it just seems to call to me and id like some opinions from people who own them and use them.......Thanks in advance to all.

It's like a curvy, ergonomic version of the Police 3. Same build, fasteners, solid SS backspacer too. My 70 year old dad loves his and carries it often. I carried one for a few months straight when they came out about a year ago. It's big, but thin so it carries well.

I have had one for a few months and I have only carried it a few times. It feels great in hand, but I don't really like the blade shape. For what it costs I wish I would have bought a PM2. Here is a pic for you so you can see it beside some others.View attachment 380704 View attachment 380705

I just got my new edition of "Tactical Knives" magazine and there is a great article in it on the Spyderco Ulize model. I'm probably going to get one of these down the line at some point because it is about the best looking recurve that Spyderco has come up with in quite a while.

It surprised me to discover that it was a design of a German Police Officer. Because with the Spyderco Police model being what I think is the quintescential law enforcement blade hardware of the last 50 years I find it sort of strange that they would want a recurve for Police work?

But I do love the geometry of the handle and the length of the blade is interesting as well. But I do advise any of you who are intrigued with the Ulize model to check out the article that is in the latest edition of Tactical Knives magazine.

I'm planning on the Ulize as my next knife. I was looking for a gently-used Ulize very recently- until my bike got stolen. Priorities

I recently picked one up and have been carrying it everyday for a little more than a week, I couldn't be happier with it. We just moved from a rural area to the city so my old lady can go to grad school, I've been EDCing a 3-4" fixed blade for the last 6 years. But the first week or so we were here I noticed my knife(either a customized schrade SC501 or a J. Doyle Bird and trout) was just getting too many looks on my belt while we were out and about, so I started looking into getting a new folder. I already had a tasman salt PE and knew I liked spydercos, so I compared a bunch, found the Ulize and pulled the trigger. It is nice and thin, carries extremely well in the pocket for a big knife, feels great in the hand, cuts wel,l cardboard, packing tape, rubber hose, some food prep, I even cleaned a trout with it. I added a deep carry clip to mine to hide it a bit more, besides the clip there is less than a 1/4" of the handle visible.

The brother of the Police, but the handle is a little bit larger. An old school made in Japan :)
I feel it better in my hand...I love the design of this blade, but as for his "older brother", is too large for me as EDC :o

The Ulize is one of my top 10 EDC knives. Its got that big, curvy blade, but is so thin and flat that its barely noticeable in the pocket. That's an awesome combo. The handle profile I find more agreeable in the hand than the Police, and the recurve gives a little love on the draw cut. Highly recommended for guys who like a long blade, but without sacrificing pocket comfort and space.

I just received a ulize two days ago. It's a big blade that carries like a much smaller one. I would call it utility-tactical. It's a brilliant sharp cutter, it came scalpel sharp and the recurve adds to the cutting power. It's like a police. But better, and I got it on sale cheaper than a police model.
