As many of you know I've been looking into buying an SKS. The SKS is one of the few semiauto rifles available in CA. I guess I could save up and get an M1A, but for the price of that .308 beauty I could get an SKS, a Mossberg 590 or Remington 870, and my Kimber Custom II. I decided to go with the latter option. I thought it more important to build my battery up first, I can always upgrade later.

I've recently stumbled onto what looks like a good deal for a Yugoslavian model 59 SKS. I don't know very much about the differences between the different models, so I want to ask you how it compares to the Chinese, Albanian, Russian, and even the Yugoslavian 59/66. I know that the 59 does not have the grenade launcher so it should be more handy than the 59/66, but that's about it.

Thanks for the help guys.

The Yugo 59 is a good rifle. You'll have a lot of affordable fun with it.

Got pics?

Does it have a star or blade type bayonet?

If you like customizing guns there are a lot of accessories for it.

The 59 is more scarce and commands a little more value. The blade bayo and grenade launcher on the 59/66 add weight and are of little use to most people.

It will be used; check the bore.

All SKSs = Good.

I use my Yugo 59/66's grenade launcher to shoot golf balls, but I'm not most people.

It's got a Bloom Automatic golf ball launcher attached to the grenade launcher.
