Just what the title says. I am a huge Spyderco fan, but I recently bought an 0350 brown aluminum model. I love it. So now I'm looking at other zt assisted knives. I've watched youtube reviews, but I trust you guys more. Thanks in advance.

They are awesome! Good size, good feel and awesome finish!

The 0566BW was the first ZT for me and has made a very good impression. The elmax blade on mine was finished very nicely and has held and edge very, very well. I rotate the ZT with my PM2 which really says something for the 0566. I will say that it was pretty stiff to flip before break in. After a couple of days and quite a few flips it started snapping out with little effort.

Yeah, I carried a manix 2 or a pm2 everyday till I got the 350. Still carry them on days off, but the zt stuff feels like it's built like a tank. I've never used elmax how does it compare to s30v?

My 566 pushed a Spyderco PM out of my pocket.
Great knife, even better when it has been de-assisted.
After the break in period, it flips reliably and smoothly and the size is comparable with the PM or PM2.
Built to last and great looking it is hard to find a negative.
My only issue is that I am not the worlds biggest fan of the deep carry pocket clip. This is subjective though, and many people love it.
I find the Elmax easier to sharpen than S30V, and the edge holding is about equal.

I've read of some issues but my experience with Elmax on the 0566 has been very positive. I can't compare it to ZT s30v as I don't yet have any ZT models with that steel. I can say that just from my experience it compares well with Spyderco s30v. However, Spyderco s30v is one of my favorite steels and I would have to give it a small advantage in edge retention. That being said, both are very nice steels that hold an edge and are not too bad to sharpen.

I had one and sold it, missed it, and bought another one. I like it better than the 562CF I have and all the other ZT's I have tried. IMO, along with the 770 it's the most pocket friendly ZT. It's a bit heavy due to the steel locking scale and liner, but still easy to carry because it is thinner than the 562. Unlike Spiggles above I like the deep carry clip. I took the torsion bar out of mine and the manual flipping action is good, but not great. I find the ergos to be spot on and the elmax is a good user steel. I like mine so much I decided to make an investment and pimp it out a bit.

I absolutely love mine. I wouldn't change a thing about it.....other than remove the torsion bar :D

That's the best looking 0566 I have seen. Who's your Pimp?

Thanks Hokie, a little bit of everyone had their hand in this job. Scale is form Cuscadi, screws and standoffs are from user "Gnoleb", and I did the etch on the scales myself.

you do good work my friend..The scale etching looks great.

I actually like the assist on the 0350. One of the reasons it beat a Spyderco as my work knife. So I won't be de-assisting it. Love the way a 350 feels.let my boss use mine today as an unauthorized cutting tool, and he was impressed, till I told him the price.

^^^ This sums it up well.

I'll add that it carries pretty comfortably/unobtrusively in pocket. Another one to consider is the 0770CF. It is very compact and lightweight, and it packs a lot of blade.

I love mine. It is heavier than most of my others but it does give it the feel of a tank. Certainly my favorite ZT and one of my favorites overall.

This is my most commonly carried blade. I like the Hinderers but the ZT has the benefit of the deep pocket clip(for me this is important as it doesn't rub the bottom of a holster I carry).

I carry this and sometimes it's smaller cousin the CryoII, but the ZT is so much nicer in every way.
