Rough is a good word for the early Released ZT knives.
Scratches, Grind burns, no sheaths.
I had several sets from the very first ones done.
So Early were my knives that I got 4 or 5 Mis-marked ZT Natural Outlaws, they were marked the same as the ZT Steel Hearts.
I was able to talk Jerry into letting me keep one mis-marked ZTNO as long as I agreed to not post any pictures of the knife for Five long years.
The rest got sent back to the Factory for new engraving.
The ZTSJ was an odd knife in that it was a different thickness than the rest and only one hundred rather then Four hundred.
Also odd about the ZTSJ was the pricing, all the other ZTs were cheaper than the Standard E-Models, the ZTSJ cost more than the Standard model.
At the Time of Issue, Satin Finish knives could be gotten from the Factory for a $75.00 upcharge.
A standard SJ was $227.00 I think, so for an upcharge of about $125.00 you got a Satin Finish, top ground limited but not numbered Edition.
I am thinking about top sharpening the false edge on my ZTBM and making a woods knife out of it.
Forward tilt, weak side carry as a crossdraw in it's Buy Brown sheath.
Maybe replace my user So called One of three Hundred with it.
Fast Knife that ZT is.
I only Keep two Satin Jacks, the First Satin Jack ever sent to a Dealer for re-sale and an ZTSJ.
Edited to add:
About half way through the production of the ZT Knives The Factory Bought some new Machines for making the Satin Finish faster and Easier,
As a Result of that, the 2nd half of production and all Satin Busse knives made or finished after that had Much nicer Satin Finishes.
