I have taken a few pictures of a khukuri that I am in possession of. Please follow the link at the end of this message to see the pics. Any information that you can give me would be most appreciated.

To preface your viewing of the pics, since they are not of great quality...

The total length of the knife is 18.25 inches, blade length is 14 inches. The handle is wooden with silver inlays and appears to have brass thin line accents around the mid section of the handle. The silver inlays are irregular in size, but attempted to be round. This has obviously been handcrafted because it is not perfect. The end of handle is capped in a silver plate.

The blade has obviously been used! There are grooves in it. It is definitely sharp. At end near handle, there is a semi-circle cut in and has a small silver piece jutting out.

I wish the pics were clearer, but my digital camera is not exactly high quality. Please take a look at the pics I have by going to:

Looks like an old one to me. Probably 60-100 yrs old, and made in Nepal.

I'm not an expert, but there are some who hang out in the Himalayan Imports forum.

Why not post this over there?
