Tell me about this knife....

This 826 knife has the Statue of Liberty 1886-1986 gold etched blade with an "Edge for Life" limited edition coin. I thought I saw a reference once about these knives being made from leftover parts, a buildout? The Triangle mountain logo was used from about 1997 to 2002. I have searced high and low to find that reference with no luck. Any help?
