I got this knife in a pile of camping and backpacking gear that my dad didn't have a use for anymore. It has the family name (Leonard) engraved on a plate inlayed in the handle. It also has "Randall Made" stamped into the blade.

I'm hoping to get as much free information as I can from you smart people, so please don't leave out any details.

That thing? Garbage. Kindly send to me for proper disposal.

....but seriously....looks like a model 3 hunter. A fine knife, definitely worth holding on to and even using if you're the outdoors type. I would suggest posting in the Randall made collectors sub-forum, but it seems you already have. Be patient. Someone with more Randall knowledge will reply, or you can check out Randall's website, as they are still made today.

They are hand made in Orlando Fl. As such no two are going to be exactly alike. For quite a few folks owning one is the holy grail. They are on back order for up to a year unless the dealer has some in stock at the time. IMO a heritage item to be passed down to your next generation.

Make sure you use it hard before passing it down though. It is a fine tool to be proud of. Talk to your dad about it, if he is able. I'm sure that there is a story there.
