Hey everyone, I have my second Spyderco on the way, a Manix 2 LW. Tell me about yours to hype me up!

The weight is amazing for the size of the knife. Carries very easy, great handle shape and the choil works great. The leaf shaped blade slices like a demon. I love mine for around the camp chores.

I like them a lot and I have a variety of them.

My first was a hollow-ground 154CM version that I bought used. At first I wasn't impressed but then I learned how to manipulate the lock my own way and from then on I decided that the knife was a very good one-hand-operation work knife.

My next was a franken model with black G10 scales and M4 blade, that I bought used. I sharpened it to suit myself and it is my best work knife and also my best edge-holding blade.

Then I managed to handle the lightweight version and was impressed by how uniquely light it was. Shortly after that the S110V version was announced so I bought one of the first of those. I can sharpen it pretty easily but in my informal tests the M4 version held its edge longer.

Then the Cruwear version came out and I bought one just because. I use it mostly as a weekend work knife around the house.

I've been caught up in the Spyderco sprint/exclusive mania and put in a pre-order for the Manix 2 XL version with S90V steel. I like the XL version although it is pretty big and hogs my pocket, and I do carry it to my office. I haven't been able to do a good test of its steel.

Then last I found a black/black Manix 2 XL for sale at a price I couldn't resist so I bought it. I have a lot of knives that I carry but only a couple with black blades so I figured I needed a little variety.

Have 2 G10 versions here---1 plain--1 combo edge-----the combo edge goes with me to work everyday and generally gets used at least 2 or 3 times a day----I touch it up on the Sharpmaker when it needs it. It replaced a D2 Mini Grip and HK 14715? I was using before.

Love the Manix2. The dark blue s110v lightweight version is probably my most carried/used knife. Very close to picking up the Blurple g10 version.

The ergonomics are what really make the knife work for me. I was never a fan (judging by looks and the fact that I was totally content with my current EDC choices) until I gave a manix2 a try.

It inspires confidence.

I'm always trying to 'shake it up' on outdoor adventures w/ respect to knife choice... on a 'big' for me (40+ miles) fall backpacking trip last September here in the Oregon Cascades, I took my new M2 LW (s110v version). (Favorite options in the past for that kind of duty include the Stretch, or maybe a small fixed blade/Dragonfly combo.) Needless to say, it handled all tasks -- everything from whittling/food prep/emergency repairs -- like a boss.

Best surprise about it was what that light weight can mean. We were surprised to be stuck in more that 24 hours of solid rain/snow, so I found myself living in a rain suit WITH NO POCKETS. Having my knife out of reach is unacceptable. ;) But fortunately, the M2 LW is so light that I felt comfortable hiking with it hanging from a paracord lanyard around my neck.

I know that's not the recommended carry option, and some may scold me for having a folder hanging from my neck... but that ball bearing lock / blade retention inspires confidence that "i ain't gonna fly open on you" too. It and my new Stretch (Hap40 sprint) are my favorite backpacking blades now.

It came a day early, and I think I have a new favorite! I love how I have a full handle, and then an extra choil up front! This one's definately staying in my pocket for a while!

Back a few years I was lucky enough to live within walking distance of the Spyderco Factory Outlet, and was able to purchase the very first Manix they sold from that location.

Heavy as a boat anchor, wicked sharp S30v, solid bank vault lock up it was my EDC for the better part off a decade.

Then the Manix 2 came out. I was dubious it seemed from my Neanderthal way of thinking to be a step back.

Then the Manix2lw came out with the translucent blue scales, and I was even more suspicious.till I handled one.
I have the original blue LW and a newer blue in s110v.

The Manix2LW has become for me the ultimate development of a cutting tool. Lightweight, a bunch of blade in a great ergonomic package, a lock I trust. For the price the Manix2 Light Weigt is the Best knife I own. And has taken over as my go to EDC.
