Have a fully serrated version on the way for when I'm not allowed to carry my EDC firearm. I'll still have my standard edc folder with me for tasks of course. Not going to pull this thing out to open a package. I plan on making a kydex sheath for horizontal carry on the belt unless I find IWB comfortable.

So tell me about your XL and how you carry it. Experiences, etc. Pics are always welcome.

Cheers,
Hawk

I keep my plain edge model in its box. I just have so many knives to choose from that it doesn't get any pocket time. :(

A good knife though.

I still have a hard time using mine instead of the Hold Out 1, I like the wider handle on the Hold Out.
Both are awesome knives though, and I definitely do feel good walking through the bush with the Talwar.

I had one and liked it a lot. It was probably one of the best "waving" knives I have had. It was huge, but still light. For me, huge, was its downfall. I just never carried it so it had to move on. If you like big knives like that, you wont be disappointed.

I picked up a plain edge one last weekend. Its the biggest folder I have in my collection. For the size of this beast, its really light in weight. Very well balanced when open in your hand in all the different grips. Amazing slicer, cuts fruits with ease. Fits in your pocket really well, might be a tad wide for some. Peers wouldn't notice you have a pocket sword in your pockets. The thumb disc wave opens better than some of my other waved folders. And the G10 handles are like any other cold steel folders.

Got mine yesterday and it is a beast!! Really like it. Much bigger in person than you get from photos and videos. I carried it to trap in my jeans and was very comfortable and discrete. The wave on this is super slick and works very well. I need to sand under the clip like on all my other G10 CS knives as it's just way too grippy under there. Here's a pick I snapped today.

I have found Cold Steel's thumb plate the most consistent at "waving" for me.

Interesting reply Josh. I like reading your observations\impressions, as we have fairly similar taste in knives. And we have been in similar environments by the looks of it.

You have nice toys, Mr. Hawk. Sneaking that Les Baer in there like we wouldn't notice. :)

I JUST pulled the trigger on a plain edge. I blame all of you on this thread for influencing me to buy this knife instead of attempting to trade for it.

I recently purchased a plain edged talwar xl and cold steel should include super glue and bandaids with each knife.
Mine is extremely sharp both edge and point. I didn't have out of the box 5 mins and felt it hit the bone in my knee when I dropped it.

I can't wait to get one of these. Make that two....I need both a 4" and a 5" version. Yes...NEED. LOL
