Hey guys, I'm looking forward to picking your brains. I have a 1x30 belt sander but haven't purchased anything to use on it yet (belts/abrasives), and that's where I'm hoping you come in.
My goal is to start with something to get a nice cutting edge and work it all the way through a mirror edge, by mirror I mean what I have in my bathroom. I've read around and think I have a good handle on what I need but I still have a few questions. I know how the grit/micron works in terms what to use first, second, etc... but what I'm not sure about is the higher up steps.
1. Where do you buy your standard 1x30 abrasive belts (please provide a link)?
2. I plan on purchasing two of these leather belts ( http://www.surgisharp.com/index_files/Page392.htm ) to use in combination with these two white compounds ( http://popsupply.bizhosting.com/matchless_buffing_compounds.html ) Will I have the mirror edge I want after the HF1?
3. Are there more steps I can take after the HF1 on the Leather? If I were to use just plain leather with nothing on it after would this improve my results? (I've seen the 12,000 grit belts and sprays but am not sure what/how to use them)
Thanks for your input in advance
