to buy Chinese Kershaws. I've always tried to stay away from Chinese products. Why can't they make all of them in the USA?

Its perfectly alright! I have many China made Kershaws and they are wonderful! Remember Kershaws parent company KAI owns the factories making the knives so they're still made in house.

i think they try and make a line of knives that are more affordable to the everyday person......thats one of the reasons i think.

i think they try and make a line of knives that are more affordable to the everyday person......thats one of the reasons i think. The first 8 or 9 knives i bought were kershaws made in china, its what started it all for me :)

Kershaw is a division of KAI, a Japanese company. Those Chinese Kershaws are made in a Japanese factory in China with Chinese workers. It's OK, we are all in this together, no enemies, just knifeknuts. :)

It's perfectly ok, the cryo is one of my favorite kershaws. Also that 8cr13mov takes an insane edge :)

I say buy away, i've owned a couple of non-U.S. made kershaws and they are solid, one I gave to a friend and it's been going strong despite his rough use. My cryo is a current part of my rotation, as a matter of fact I left it in the car and need to go get it.......:p

The cryo is a great knife for the money,if they bring out a non flipper I will be in line for one.

There are a plethora of great Chinese Kershaw knives on the market. Since everyone has mentioned the Cryo, I'll advocate the O So Sweet. I got it in a trade and have been very impressed. It is an amazing knife. I also own a Cryo, but can't really say anything that hasn't already been said, except that I liked mine so much I invested in a custom CF scale for it. It cut pretty much a full ounce off the carry weight. My brother-in-law EDCs a Clash I bought him and absolutely loves it. I've owned others and they've all been amazing knives.

As far as upcoming releases go, I'll be getting the Dimension and both Injections as soon as I can. Probably the Thermite too.

ill also add that the Compound and Tremor are great knives for the money. They are also China made

The advantage of the China made Kershaws (for me personally) is that I simply don't care how rough I am on them. They are great beaters and easily replaceable without having to drop $50 to $200 (or more) on USA made blades for another one. Some guys just prefer the designs, etc... If you bought an iPad, iPhone, did them being made in China bother you? For me, if it works I'm good.

I wanted to find how well 8Cr13MoV can hold an edge for cutting flex ties, so I did some research and chanced upon a Kershaw 3/4 Ton.
It has so far worked fine as a beater for me.
And it's also the cheapest folder I ever purchased and owned (under 40 SG dollars) :D

it's definitely ok. my Clash is a monster. and i'm looking to get a Cryo and Tremor this Father's Day :D

Perfectly fine. I have several Chinese-made Kershaws, and they all work and hold up great. The Cryo and OSO Sweet are two of my favorite Chinese-made Kershaws.

The Chinese-made Kershaws are made by Kershaw in their overseas facilities by their staff using designs they legitimately own/have licensed and following their QC guidelines. Furthermore, they're backed by their top-notch customer service and lifetime warranty. They shouldn't be confused with the $2 thrift shop knives that are produced with the sole objective of making something at absolute minimal cost.
