I've owned serveral over the years. They are big and ruggedly built. Good for hard use IMO. I know on the Aitor website (at least a few years ago) some of the knives were labeled "Police" and other public depts. You used to be able to find them at certain US dealers, but for a while were kind of hard to find. I bought my last one directly from Aitor in Spain.
Certainly good knives if you can find them.

I had one of the big Army multiblade knives but I gave it away just before Aitor stopped being available. :(

They were nicely made and I wish some dealer would pick them up so we could have a choice -- they had quite a few models.

Aitor's Gran Capitan is of course unique.

It's a step up from the 108mm GAK's/ Vic Safari's wood saw/cap lifter/can opener/screw driver thingy.
So what exactly makes up the Aitor multipurpose tool blade?
It's a can opener, bolt/nut wrench, wire stripper, a small wood branch saw all rolled up into a single blade tool.

it is also much too good of an idea to pass, so let's just call this copy El Capitán Chino

So what can possibly top that?
Well, the Aitor Comandancia and Alligator has even an additional plier tool!

All fine at it's time of release, but now i would certainly prefer something with a lock in place... fine piece of machining though.

I have one like comoha has; great quality, heavy duty piece. However, some of Aitor's newer stuff is imported, and I'm not sure of the quality.

thx - cpr

Incredible post! Thanks!

They should just call the "Yatchman" a Marinero and forget about confusing English spellings. :)

Ha! Thanks! :)

"Aitor" gives some hits on the Exchange. I won an auction for one a couple days ago. They're not always listed as "Aitor" but they're easily recognized by their logo. Some pages from an Aitor brochure:

Wow - thanks for all the images & info. I bought my Aitor from a member here, and I haven't made the time to look up anything about them, other than a few quick searches.

thx - cpr

I have a question. Do the red colored SAK looking Aitors have toothpics and tweezers in the handle scales like lets say a Vic SAK does?

The "Dandy" has a toothpick and tweezers - it's a dandy. ;-) Some of the others in the catalog above (e.g. the "Forestal") do not appear to have a toothpick or tweezer.

I posted a Aitor Safari knife on Bernard Levines post place today 3\17\15, looking for info on it anyone may have
