Tell me more about this unusual Strider Fixed Blade?

Okay, so I try to do most of my own sleuthing, but I can't seem to find much, and maybe I don't want to get too deep into the Burger Swamp.
But this one knife has me intrigued enough to at least want to know a little more if anybody knows a bit more:

I enhanced the Signature a bit more, which says M.Strider, and as far I know, that's what he did to custom/one offs, as opposed to the machine STRIDER on the production type pieces. I'm assuming he asked for:

When it sold, given how much a Nail from him costs.
And if nobody knows anything, maybe somebody can tell me at least what kind of blade finish/type that might be, since it doesn't look like a finish I've seen on any other knife? Some sort of patina?

Thanks for any Intel :)

Where did you see this? Reverse searching it only gives a couple Russian websites.

Is it typical for Mick to put his signature so conspicuously on the blade?

Yeah I tried the reverse search too, I am not a 100% sure, but I THINK I got it from a Flickr Account, a guy going by Stickgunner/Stickman, he takes pics of guns, knives and gear. I had a few other similar pictures of other Strider Knives (the more typical fixed blades.) And the Signature is usually clearer, just due to the blade it's more hidden I believe.

Doesn't look AT ALL like any of the STRIDER knives I know off... Which is not saying much, since I am not a STRIDER expert. But it is not STRIDER'ish...

What I meant about the signature is, I found an image of another Strider custom and his signature was on the finger choil. So not just obtrusively scrawled on the blade flat but sort of hidden.

At least this thread is good press for strider knives

It's a fake, although I admit freely I know nada about strider or this knife.

ETA I guess I can't say I know nothing of strider. I know plenty of him.

Stickman is a member on the Esee forums, you can try hime there for some more info.
He's a great photographer of knives and guns imho.

I know he did some really weird custom stuff. From the looks of it, this might be from that period.

That pretty much answered my question, thanks. Gun Barrel and Motorcycle Chain and Forged.

You make a good point, so I'm gonna leave the thread open until tomorrow morning and then delete it. Like I said, I don't like or support the guy and I would never buy one but it was a curiosity mostly for the steel. It looked overall like an interesting piece to me, something like a movie prop from a fantasy movie. Although I guess that would fit in with Mickeys past.
But yeah I don't want him to have more exposure than he needs.

That is one hideous knife.
It might be a fake, as others have stated but fake or not, it ties in well with the Burger products.
Small wonder; he is fake as well.

I like it, I wouldn't carry it, and I certainly wouldn't give HIM money for it. As stated above, it reminds me of a movie prop and tastes vary. I for one like almost no Damascus/Damasteel stuff but the forged steel had some character to it.

There is no accounting for taste and by that I mean no disrespect.
We dont all like the same blades and it would be boring, if we did.
I personally dont care for nightmare grinds and find the proportions wrong.
Ill agree with you on movie prop part.

b00n b00n if you leave it up some people might see it and decide against buying a strider. This thing belongs on Ugly Knife Pics thread.

He’s a reputable photographer, you would vouch for him? He wouldn’t take photos of a fake is what you’re saying?

In that case it is real, really ugly.

It's cool, I don't take it personally when somebody doesn't share my taste. I learned the whole "If you don't like something you can ignore it"-Philosophy, not like a lot of people who yell "I'm getting microaggressions over your triggers over here! Please coddle me!" :D;)

I think Nightmare grinds are visually interesting and can be neat, like compound grinds but practically speaking they're pretty meh.

Lapedog Lapedog , I can delete it or leave it up. I'll see where it is tomorrow, if it disappears down the line by itself I just leave it let it be as a warning not to give money to criminal liar, if it floats around like Advertising for him I delete it. I think that's what the majority prefers. Since like I stated, it's more about wanting to know about the blade stock with no intent of ever buying anything associated to the guy.

That knife looks like it belongs to a Ninja Turtle. Lol!

Thanks for the email that brought me over to this thread. I need to post over here on a more regular basis!

That is not my picture. The only unusual Strider knife that I can think of that I have posted a picture of is the prototype blade which belonged to John Noveske, and which Johnny gave to me.

Regarding reputable.... I'm prior MIL, a city cop, firearm instructor, martial arts instructor, photographer (web/ ad work/ books/ magazines/ papers etc) and I've been know to write articles for magazines. I won't say that I wouldn't shoot pictures of a fake blade, but it would be to point out that it is a fake. I'm working on an article currently which shows a knockoff blade made over seas versus a well known company. I don't think it is my place to say reputable, but I don't call anything which anyone has ever stated disputing anything I've written. That doesn't mean there haven't been differences of opinion, but factually I stay in my own lane, which keeps life easy.

Thank you very much for your input. So then member knoefz knoefz either did’t remember who photographed it correctly or someone is out there posting photos and claiming to be you.

That means again we can’t be sure if it is real or not. I wonder if the Monkey Edge photo is real. Granted the Monkey Edge one is a different knife but if it is real it would mean Strider has indeed made knives in this style.

....read again mate, it was the OP that suggested it was work by Stickman not knoefz, the later only suggested how best to contact him.
