I have gathered a pretty solid collection of knives, which started primarily with spydercos. I now have several sebenza, hinderer, microtech, lots of GEC traditionals and several benchmades along with lots of other nice stuff. For some reason I keep being drawn back to the blurple pm2 though. Have never owned a PM or any spyderco with this lock. Closest I have is a military or maybe a caly 3.5. I know everyone swears by the PM2 and it's a nice looking knife. My main concern is that it's a lot handle and pocket space for a medium sized blade, especially compared to something like the Caly. Am I nuts for having 20+ spydercos along with lots of other really nice knives without having ever even handled a PM2 or am I going to find it disproportional and it won't ever get pocket time. Someone convince me...

I also struggled with the idea of getting the PM2. But I broke down and got a Black G10 with a satin blade. Loved it immediately.

After several weeks of solid carry, I got used to the "large" handle, and now I don't even notice it in the pocket. You'll get used to it also. Once you get used to it, you'll appreciate it more and more. You'll want to carry it....believe me.

The PM2 became my most favorite Spydie, even though I was buying others. Still is.

Once I got the Blurple, I can't put it in a drawer. Heck, when I travel the PMs go with me. I never leave them at home anymore.

Love em..............you will too.

Good luck

I think every Spydie fan should at least try a PM2. I'm not sure it necessarily needs to be a Blurple/S110V but if that's your favorite flavor then great! I'll admit that I only have the one I bought off the exchange and it doesn't get as much carry time as some of my smaller knives but I still enjoy having it. Go ahead and try one. You won't know if you'll like it until you have it. You can always sell it on the Exchange if it's not for you.

You need a blurple Para2 'cos it's blade is S110V and holds a working edge really well.
You need a blurple Para2 'cos even if you don't like the blurple you can change it.
You need a blurple Para2 'cos it eases the pain of not having a rare and stupidly expensive CF/S90V Para2.
You need a blurple Para2 'cos the compression lock rocks and you deserve the chance to familiarize yourself with it.
You need a blurple Para2 'cos in the unlikely event you decide it's not for you, it will easily sell.

Hope I was of some small help...

Well mine just arrived about a half hour ago and makes everything bad I've thought and said about Spyderco go away. It seems like a nice little knife and my wife will like it because it's not black and auto. We'll see in a few months whether I actually like it

I had a PM2 years ago.... liked it a lot. Sold it because I really beat on it and took away a lot of steel. Just got an S110V in the mail this morning and conpletely forgot- this thing is tiny. I have XL hands and it's not my favorite ergos because my hand hangs off. Fantastic knife otherwise, but it's small! I can't beleive they're making a smaller one, we need a PM2 XL!

I had a camo version and gave it to someone. I liked the knife but my hands are big so the Millie seemed to be better. However, when they came out with this Midnight Blue, or blurple, I had to have one just because of the color. It arrived and I found that if anything the fit and finish are better than on my old one. The knife is beautiful...top end steel, unusual color. What's not to love? The ergos are good, too. Not much different than the Millie in the actual gripping area.

There is only one reason not to buy one immediately, and that is if you already have 3 of them. Otherwise you need to buy one, or buy another one.

i put off getting a PM2 for a longtime because of its size!but because it is a vary useful knife i now own the same pair as tdhurl1103),got them about a year apart!theS110V came last,i had planed replacing its blurple scales in time!but never did, they have grow on me,as you don't see this color much ether!when going to the grate outdoors, one of these is with me,but not the city so much...

There's a reason the PM2 is so popular. Sometimes stats don't tell the whole story. You owe it to yourself to give it a try. If you don't you'll always wonder what your missing out on anyway.

You don't.
You need a Military...it has even more awesome built into it. :)

Already have a military

Thanks for all the responses. May grab the pm2 in a couple weeks I guess. It does seem like a silly thing not to own.

Sounds like the Military would be a good fit for you. Very few people will find the handle of the pm2 too small.
If the Mliltary is too small, you may need to look at the oversized Cold Steels!

If the military is too small I'd look into hand reduction surgery or at least have that looked at by a doctor.

IMO, this is perhaps one of the most often thought yet rarely verbalized sentiments in the world of Spyderco fans.:foot::thumbup::D

Get it fella... If my middle bedroom was stacked to the ceiling with knives...

I'd still want one more. Enjoy yourself

Why do you need a blurple PM2

1. Because they make them
2. Because you don't have one yet.

Why do I have a cruwear PM2 coming when I already have s30, s110, s35, m4? See above
