 I don't own one, but would like to, and they seem
to be all the rage, just curious what makes them so good
as compared to other high end production knives.
(No switch blade info need, only folders(

I think the best way to answer that is for you to handle one so you can see and feel the quality for your self. I have a Microtech LCC, and It is one of my favorites. IMHO a lot of bang for the buck. I have also checked out the Socom, and that knife feels real good in the hand as well. Good luck, and I hope there is a shop near you that carry's these knives.

I am late to the Microtech game... I bought my first Microtech about one month ago and am now waiting on the delivery of my fourth one! I wish that UPS guy would hurry up with my SW-blade LCC! ;)

The thing that strikes me about the Microtech brand knives is the total quality involved. Every single part and facet of the knife was designed and built to extremely high tolerances. They are made with the highest quality materials and the designs are top notch and well thought out.

All three of the MT's I have now lock up solid and tight and there is not a flaw to be found anywhere on them and I am a freak for details.

P.S. I do not work or am affiliated with Microtech in any way(although I would like to be!). I am just a new junky... :D

edit:
P.P.S. Number 4 came today and is just as perfect as the first three. I was actually a bit worried after hearing about some guys being disappointed in their LCC's. My 4th gen LCC is simply perfect... I may have to buy a couple more. :D

I guess there are worse things to be addicted to...

I have an LCC plain edge, stonewash. If you want a *G*O*O*D* linerlock, get this one. It will amaze you, as well in quality as is strength. Altough this is one very pretty knife, it is build like a workhorse. probably the most amibivalent knife in my collection - workhorse but pretty as hell, so I don't use it.. it is cuter to play with and get wondered about how they made it so damn smooth for a linerlock.

I also have a Microtech SOCOM-Elite plain edge stonewash (was stonewash, I polished the grinding flats so I made my own duo-tone High polish SOCOM. That is so much fun with the stonewashed blades, they polish sooo easy to a mirrorpolish. The Microbar is rock solid and locks like a bankvault - You probably heard these words before, but they really describe this lock. This and my REKAT SIFU are the only folders that Feel like a fixed blade when locked if you start twisting and pushing the blade.

In My opinion, they are worth every penny they cost, better even, they are worth probably more in utility value. I've seen customs with lower quality. Their sheer quality and toughtfull design earns them the place as absolute best factory knife producers. To me, they are borderline, like Sebenza's.
