Can someone tell me why I live here?? -7 here this morning! And it can be worse!

How's your weather??

"We all have to live somewhere". If you are numb, with cold, an answer such as this may make since. Keep the forge hot, it can help.:D

Fred, from balmy southeast Ohio:eek:

It is 30 degrees here in Walla Walla. We usually never get harsh cold because of our own little bananna belt between the west coast and the rocky mountains. The summers are about 100 degrees and dry. My dad was wise to move us here from Kansas in the 60s. Its a nice small town and used to be cheap to live here but recently about 70 winerys have formed. Now the property has at least doubled but the Californians keep buying here and paying cash smiling all the way.

Fred is right: We all have to live somewhere and here is my weather to date.

Today: Cloudy with rain ending by afternoon. High near 40F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
Tonight: Some clouds. Low 26F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy skies. High 37F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow night: Cloudy skies with a few snow showers later at night. Low 26F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 40%.

Saturday: Snow likely. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the low 20s.
Sunday: A few snow showers. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the upper teens.

Monday: Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the upper teens.

And if its to cold there just fire up the old stove. That's what I do when its cold. ---------

Its about -9 here, cloudy a few flakes right now. Things will improve with 5 centimeters of snow expected and temperatures ease back down to the -20's. I'd like to see some solid -30's to help with the bud worm problem. Winter is a nice break from the long hot days of summer, forest fires, and biting bugs.

Dunno...can you tell me why I have to be in Rochester on business next week?

-d

I'd rather be in Rochester than where I'm going to be next week. I'm in beautiful (actually ugly, dirty and boring) Gillette, Wyoming next week.

That is a complicated weather forecast. The weather forecast for here in the Pacific Northwest is:

Rain till May and 45 degrees F.!

-7 yesterday morning, 34 this morning and going as low as -15 tonight with storm watch! It's always been said around here that if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it'll change!!:D:D We usually don't get the lake affect snow like Syracuse/Watertown area, but we get some screwy stuff that follows the St. Lawrence river. It could be a lot worse, but hey, sometimes ya just gotta bitch about something!!;)

Mornings are mid 30s with a little frost, and only up to mid 50s these days but bright sunny skies.

Scott Ickes, I got a good laugh out of that. What's the suicide rate there?

I grew up in northeastern Ohio, close to the lake, and it is noted to have weather like Buffalo. Do I need to say more about that weather?
Well, at 19 years old, just getting a start on my own, in the middle of winter, I got a chance to move to California. My dad was quite taken back by my hurried decision and said I was crazy.

Later that summer he visited me and told me that every time he shoveled snow that winter, he wondered about which one of us was crazy.

You guys are just tougher, I guess.

Richard

I grew up in NE Ohio also. I don't miss the snow. I miss lightning bugs of all things!

Scott,

North of Gillette, I think it's in Cody, is a good size Western Miseaum. I missed it my last trip but you might try if you get the chance. And really, Gillette isn't that much diffrernt than the rest of wyoming, except maybe Jackson.

Gene

Gillette reportedly has more bars per capita than any other city in the U.S. It's definitely a drinking town.

I don't know what yall are complaing about,it got all the way down to 31 here this morning,Had to put on long pants insrtead of my usual shorts and flip flops.
