Telling a crack from a scratch

I got a blackjack model 7 and i noticed that there is a scratch or a crack right before the edge starts.

To me it looks like a scratch, hard to really tell from the pic, can you catch a fingernail in it?

It's incredibly unlikely to be a crack. Still, do you know anyone who is a mechanic on a heavy commercial airliner? They might be able to get an NDT guy to check your blade.
 
If the photo was in focus I'd be able to tell. Off hand I'd say a scratch or dent.
 
Simple solution: send it back for a replacement. Not a cheap knife and we always hear about the great CS BlackJack's distributors. They should make you 100% happy with your purchase .

Agreed. Whatever it is, I don't like the looks of it.
