Hey, all,

From anyone experienced with carrying and using the Temperance 2, I ask for your opinions. How does it carry in the sheath with the G-Clip attachement> Thoughts on the knife overall.

Thanks!

I don't own a Temperance 2 yet but it is one of my highest priority Spyders to get in the next 2 to 3 months.

However I do own 3 of the Temperance 1 models and I can tell that you that the blade design is truly close to perfect. It's not only a superb hunting & game knife but it's also a fantastic kitchen knife as well. I even take my Temp 1 on fishing trips and find myself using around the house some.

The more I use the Temp 1 the more I like it. The Temp 2 has pretty much the same blade and handle geometry so I'm kind of going out on a limb comparing it to the older model. But I'm telling you that if you like the Temp 2 as good as I like the Temp 1 it will be probably your favorite fixed blade knife.

Thanks for the input :) It looks like a perfect knife for standard outdoor chores. I have the Beckers for the heavy stuff. I assume the cost is all that keeps them from being more prevalent. HOw do you carry your T-1?

I like the G-clip of the Temp II much better than the Tek-Lok of the Temp I. The bulkiness of the Tek-Lok annoys me. The Temp II rides closer to the body, making it less likely to snag on things. And while it is really a fighting knife disguised as a utility blade, the disguise is very effective. ;)

How do I usually carry the Temp 1? Well there has got to be at least 10 different ways I carry it. For the past 3 days I've been carrying one in the pocket of my Carhartt insulated vest that I normally wear this time of year.

But when I'm carrying it out hunting I just put that older Tek-Lok sheath that it came with either in a straight up & down or sideways configuration and that knife holds so well in that sheath that I've never had it fall out on me. Today I even went to the local McDonald's today for lunch and I didn't realize it until I placed my order that I still had my SE Temp 1 in my vest pocket :o:D

Nobody said anything at all and I doubt if anyone even paid any attention to it. Now Mike Sastre makes special sheaths for the TEmp 1 and I do plan on picking one of those up from him before too long. I would imagine he already has something for the Temp 2 in his lineup as well. His website is www.rivercitysheaths.com

He makes really cool sheaths for many Spyderco folders too. I can't wait to get my hands on a TEmp 2. But even when I do I won't give up my Temp 1 models. I'll just save them for extremely rough duty;)

I don't have any pics but my Temp 2, is pretty much like Yablanowitz has fits close to the body & is very comfortable. I like to carry mine inverted. hasn't fallen out yet. I like the G-Clip it works very well. I haven't had any experience with the Tek-Lok.

Thanks for the replies, Yablanowitz and JD Spydo! The Temp 2 is a tempting blade right now!

That's a must have blade!

And the choir shouted AMEN!!!! :D

With it's predecessor the Temperance FB-05 ( TEmp 1) model being one of the very few outdoor fixed blades that was available in Spyderedge variation I'm just hoping that the Great Spyder Factory will deeply consider making the Temp 2 available in SE on a special order basis if nothing else.

I want a Temp 2 worse than I want any fixed blade at this time. And Yes I even want it worse than I do the Warrior which is also on my "Gotta Have" list.

But to me it will be an injustice if I can't get a TEMP 2 in Spyderedge :(

I dearly love my TEMP 1 in Spyderedge and I've just got to have a TEMP 2 in SE as well. And that settles it.

It is a great knife, perfect crossover of bushknife and self defense with no disadvantages I can see to either purpose.
It is like my millie on steriods, a slicer with some real backbone.
Really good fishing knife, no rust vg-10, kydex and micarta. You could probably use it as a saltwater dive knife as well with the clip.
It is hard to put down, probably the most comfortable micarta handle I have and not too smooth. No hotspots or pressure points.
