There is hardly any information about the FB05 using the search function.

Anybody got one yet? What do you think?

How thick is the blade of the Temperance? Big D1

Handled the FB Temperance at Blade and it was in the production model showcase. As to its release date that is unknown. The Spyderco Factory Outlet would be your best bet to find out more information. I am eagerly anticpating its release as well.

Hi Big D1. The FB Temperances are shipping now to collectors, I beleive they go out Monday. Then they'll be shipping steadily. We expect to be caught up on backorders by the end of July.

The Blade is .157 (4mm) thick, 4.5" long (114mm) (hilt to tip) VG-10, Flat ground spine to edge, distal taper hilt to tip. It has an ergonomic FRN handle.

I'm biased, but for an all around tough, high performance fixed blade, with an "MBC" flavor, I think this model would be hard to beat in terms of value & performance / dollar.

Sal, thanks for the information. The FB Temperance looks like one awesome knife. I have been shopping around for a medium sized fixed blade, and it looks like it will fit me. I really like the flat grind, and I see that Spyderco has kept the handle on it long enough for one to have a good grip. Big D1

I had a chance to play with the protos of the Temperance and the Trainer and definitely concur with Sal - he's not biased, he's right! Outstanding MBC pieces!!

I got the Perrin Street Bowie and knew I'd found a treasure.
Then a week later, I see this knife and I'm reelin'. A fix blade large Calypso! As soon as they show up at Ruff's, I'M THERE!

Thanx MDP, nice pic. You also reminded me that I've not yet gotten a response on what we'd charge to serrate your Moran. I'll follow that up next week.

I have a Temperance Plain Edge kept at 30 degrees and finished on our ultra fine rods. It's actually quite "sticky" sharp. VG-10 is pretty nice stuff. I also have a serrated version, 4.5" of very aggressive cutting power. We do make a very nice trainer (red handle) that is much safer to play with.
