Temperance Jr....

Hello Sal and everyone involved in Spyderco, as well as all you fellow Spydie fans.

I have recently read some threads which suggested that the Temperance Jr. was already in production and should be ready to ship soon...at least for collectors first (you lucky bastids!). I was wondering if you have an official, or for that matter a "guesstimate" on when you will be shipping the production-non-collector version.

Getting a compression lock/tactical knife with an MBC lockup rating, a reversible tip-carry clip, and a 3" ELO friendly leaf-shaped blade is my ultimate dream! Well, really it isn't, but I would still like to get this knife ASAP!

Here's the way I figure the math:

200 units total per month, first available next week:

75 Calypso-type live
25 Calypso-type trainer

75 upswept live
25 upswept trainer

The collectors club will be getting the first 200 Calypso-style live-edge types and any variations they opt for (trainer, upswept & trainer).

So production months #1, July 15 - Aug 15; #2, Aug 15 - Sept 15, and #3, Sept 15 - Oct 15; will account for the total collectors club requirement for the Calypso-style Temperance Jr., with 25 left over. It won't be until after production month #4, Oct 15 - Nov 15, that the rest of us will get a shot at the next 75 live blades in that style. So think late November before you see them in stores.

If only half the collectors club opts to get the upswept blade, that means the first live knives in that style won't be available outside the collectors club until after the second month of production, in mid to late September.
