I have handled both, and both are good knives. Look at the handles, and THERE is the important difference. The Perrin's blade and handle are in a straight line with one another. The Temperance handle is contoured along a curve, relative to the blade's axis. (An extreme example of this same thing would be the Massad Ayoob folder.) For MY hands and habits, the Temperance is better, and will be a near-future purchase. Not that there is anything wrong with the Perrin. I am just glad I was able to handle both, side by side, at a knife show. But, I had already guessed correctly by looking at pictures, beforehand. I already LOVED the Gunting, the Military, and other knives with handle contours much like the Temperance.
