I have recently acquired a Temperance II and seriously love it. Yes it was pricey but the design and feel, carry and material among other features really appeals to me. It is in VG 10 steel and I understand the forging process is different. My concern. I noticed on one side only, mid blade, there is a slight what appears to be flaw. A bit of a ripple or warp running from a 1/4 of the way down the spine to the edge. It is parallel to the surface grain or grind striation. It is only visible at very oblique angles and light as if you where inspecting the bodywork on a car but is defiantly there. Running the fingers along it can be felt too but only at the very threshold of perception. I am concerned this is a weak point and may break down the road or cause some other issue. I am no steel expert and am not sure of the standards but I do know a piece at this price and quality it should be pretty high. Especially from such an awesome company as Spyderco. I will of course contact them but I would also appreciate input from here. Thank you and I will elaborate if asked. I doubt I could photograph this.
