I have forged a tomahawk intended for throwing from a block of 1060 steel. After forging and normalizing I heated it to 1500 F. And quenched in parks 50. since it is intended for throwing what temperature would be best to temper it?

Thanks for any help. Also I apologize if this has already been answered elsewhere on the forum

Temper the bit to about 500° F and the eye to 600° or 700° F. Of if you're using colors go for purple on the bit and blue on the eye.
