Temporary Increase in PM's - Request from RichardJ

I just spoke with RichardJ, who is in the hospital recuperating from surgery. He's pretty medicated and groggy, but his first statement was, "I tried to call Spark to see if he would increase my PM limit, as I only have 5 left. Would you please contact him for me?"

Obviously RichardJ can't access his PM's at the moment. And I don't know if the system allows more than he has now.

I leave it in your capable hands, Spark.

The easiest thing to do would be to archive them and save them as a txt document on the PC.

That would be the easiest way, except that Richard is in the hospital and doesn't have access to BF, and I believe he doesn't want to miss any new PM's that might arrive during his convalescence there.

If he doesn't have access to BF, then he doesn't have access to PMs either. They'll be there when he gets back.
 
Except for the ones that bounce after he reaches capacity. If his storage was getting full before his accident and he can't empty it because he doesn't have access in the hospital, he'll be missing out on messages from well-wishers. Not the end of the world, but he may think it rude to have the system reject a bunch of messages while he is laid up.

I stand to be corrected but I do not believe that the VB software allows you to increase the PM's for an individual member. It requires a new user group to be created and only then can you allocate a PM count. At least that is how it appears on my version of the VB software.

Perhaps someone can get Richard's login details, download the PM's for him and then empty the PM box.
 
First off,I wish Richard J a fast and painless recovery! I wish him well!

Maybe start a thread some where about contacting him after a certain date when he returns home? Or maybe leave a message for him on the thread also.

Just a thought.
 
I wonder if an alternative email account could be set up for him like a separate Gmail or Hotmail account?
 
No need for alternate email address, his existing email address should have an abundance of storage, most give you a 6GB storage limit. That is equal to about 500K lengthy PMs.

Speaking of which, his "send email" link is live on his profile page. Anyone who tries to send him a Private Message after his PM box is full will receive a message to that effect, and can then email him.
