but I bought a Victorinox Recruit instead at Walmart. Can I get a stockman made in the USA? These looked so good, but I was really put off by the MADE IN CHINA stamp! :grumpy:

I have been trying to find out if they are still making the USA ones also, I have seen several online dealers still have them, try www.newgraham.com they are a great place to buy from, and they still list the USA ones.

As for the China ones, I have one and they are very well made.

I also got a USA made Stockman stamped "Last Year Of Production, El Cajon CA" off Ebay for no more than a regular one cost, and there are several listed on Ebay.

Hope this helps.

I have to disagree with the statement that the (made in china) stockman is "well made".I have examined 5 diferent knives in three locations and they were all lacking in the fit and finish of a tipical buck knife.the handles were dull and felt as if they here poorly finished, all three back springs were sticking out at different heights from the back of the knife. With that being said the springs were strong and the blades were fairly sharp,I would say it is not a terrible knife for the money.I didn't buy one for the above reasons.I went to sears and bought the craftsman equilivent four inch stockman for the same price,it is of better quality and american made which I also like.

Well, I am currently bidding on a stockman and Cadet from Buck, they must be pretty popular, because, while being no where close to the MSRP, I am thinking that 20 is a little high for one on eBay.

I gave 24 on ebay for my 301, which is about what they went for at Wal-Mart in my area, Schrade prices have been going nuts on Ebay also.
