Curious as to what else is in the pipeline now that the Tenacious has established itself. Any clip points? small bowies? Spear points? hmm.......

Dunno, Spyderco seems to be playing that pretty close to the vest. Can't really blame them. Will say that I'm impressed enough by the Tenacious' fit and finish to want to see if they can do as well with a front lock model with a 50/50 choil. Just not sure if that's a direction Spyderco wants to go.

Personally, one or two chinese spydercos would be fine with me. Leave all the other designs for Byrd. Buck came out with a couple of chinese made folders a few years ago, and since then most EDC bucks these days are chinese made with junkier steel. (the steel the china spydies and byrds use is better than the steel used in china bucks in my opinion tho. Overall fit/finish and construction is better too)

I hope no more Spydies are made in China.
I would not take one if it was free!
Why not spend 10.00 more and get a US made Native with S30V steel?

I hate to sound dour, but we'll be lucky just to get Chinese models, let alone our own American-made ones. Between the interest rate swaps, bond derivatives market, and coming worthlessness of the US dollar, hell, we'll be lucky just to have a Spyderco, Inc.

Because you already have a native :p

For people overseas, the china made knives are great, unless want to pay $95-$150 for a s30v native which is 40bucks in the US.

Maybe the Tenacious offers things that the Native doesn't. G-10, full flat grind, 4 way clip, steel liners, linerlock. These are just some of the features that the native doesn't have. Just a thought.

Because he might want a liner lock. Or a 4 way clip. Or G10 handles. Or a drop point blade. Or a lower price. Or a....you get my point.

I am loosing this one.
I for one will keep as much of my tiny amount of money at home or at least with a country that has an economy close to ours.

Well said,But I have no problem with knives made in japan.Lets just say

keep our money in the us and japan.I love the american cpm company. But I

also love the steels hatatchi makes "(zdp 189)".And there would be no

laminated blades without japan as well.I live "(CPM)" and (Hitatchi).

cheers

I think I am not alone when I say that at first I was skeptical about knives made in China, but then the Byrds arrived and showed us they could make some pretty decent knives. The Spyderco Tenacious is even nicer than the Byrds - I was presently surprised at the fit and finish. The price is a great selling point too. Now if the next one comes with a back lock, well, then I'd really be impressed :)
