...or a testament to the utility of the Spyderco knife.

We all have moments where we do things we know just aint right. Out of laziness (not wanting to make my 4th trip to the basement)I used my Tenacious to pry open a can of stain. I knew I shouldn't try it, but the thrill of the unknown got the best of me.

I was very careful, and the thick spine and flat grind got me through. That blade remains pretty hefty right up to the tip. So- I know there have been alot of questions about this knife. I have to say again that it is the best $30 or so bucks I have spent on an EDC utility folder. It is very sharp, well made and hungry for work.

My only gripe was that the virgin linerlock/blade interface was a bit rough at first. That liner could have used another second on the grinder/polisher. That did work itself out pretty quickly, though. The design does allow your thumb to find the liner easier than alot of designs at higher prices. The blade shape is very useful, and the handles are big and grippy, with a great thumb ramp. I can't see anyone being disappointed with this value in a knife.

Anyway- just an FYI. I would kinda like to hear stories of knives at work for a while, rather than "what is the best..." debates.

I loved my Tenacious.
Stropped with some compound the factory edge could shave pieces off of strands of hair. It was one of my favourites. I guess that is why I gave to my friend for his missionary trip to South Africa.
I do miss it somewhat, I suppose I need to buy another one.

The Tenacious is just incredible. I have had mine now for about a year and the quality of this knife is amazing. Rock solid lock up, a thump ramp that deserves its name, smooth action, it cuts like a laser and I really like the 8Cr13MoV. Really one of my favorite knives.
