Well my work mule is developing some surface rust on the liners, clip and i think i saw some on the tang. My guess is that that sweating caused it.

Now not only do I need some help with what to use to remove the rust but does also anyone know from the top of his or her head the size of hex bits needed to dismantle it so that i can clean it fully?
I'm on a trip and I won't see my tool bag for the next 3 weeks or so, so I'll just buy the tools needed.

Thx in advance

I believe they're Torx-8 and the pivot screw is a Torx-10. If someone could confirm or deny that'd be great.

Once you get it apart, some fine steel wool will take off the rust.

sorry, I'd just tried it, pivot is Torx-8 and the screw on handle is Torx-6

Don't know if they've changed, but my tenacious did not use torx screws at all, it used hex screws.

A minor difference, and while you can adjust hex screws with a torx bit, it can be harder on the bit.

Well I didn't take it apart so I wouldn't know. Thx for the help guys

Mine use hex screws too, not torx screws. However, if your tenacious DOES have torx screws for some reason, it will most likely use T-6 and T-8 screws since that's what the majority of knives use.

My Tenacious uses Hex screws in size 5/64 for the pivot and 1/16 for the rest.

You might want to buy 2 bits for the smaller sized screws...
The smaller screws tend to rotate on both sides of the knife when using just 1 bit .
ymmv though

Thx a lot guys. Hopefully I'll manage to get to it today so I'll let you know how it went and what worked

Well it worked with hex bits. Wasn't all that easy considering where I am but it worked and that's the important thing
