I agree with you. I have a tenacious and it does a really good job for what a knife is intended for. I was just wanting a comparison. In the last couple years I've really gravitated to more budget knives.I own and like them both.
They are both about the same size/wt and, for my purposes, function equally well but, since the Tenacious costs only a fraction of what the Manix2 does, I am more apt to use it to cut things than I would the Manix2.
I know that there are some here that hold the opinion that every knife should be used and that it is pointless to own any knife unless you do.
I do not share this opinion. I agree that a knife is a tool and I think that you should use the best tool for a particular job but do you need to use a $100-300 knife to cut something when a $20-40 knife would do the job just as well?
I think not because I also believe in the old adage, "waste not, want not." That's why I'd always use a replaceable blade box cutter or utility knife to break down boxes or any other demanding task that I think they could handle before I'd use the the Tenacious (or another less costly knife) which I would in turn use before the Manix2 (or any other of more expensive knives).
This is just my perspective on the matter. You are of course free to do as you choose and your pocket book allows.

I'v borrowed the Manix2 and liked it. I just couldn't get over how much of a pocket hog it is since I carry my knife & wallet in the same pocket.
I owned the Tenacious for about a day and hated it. I returned it as soon as I could. The knife proves that it's possible for a value knife to be overpriced. At $30 bucks I thought it was very "meh" for what you got, but now that it's pushing $50?! To me there are WAY better options out there at that price that outclass the Tenacoius. Spyderco's own Byrd line comes to mind.
Of course this is my experience YMMV.
