Hey guys I'm new to blade forums and I am looking for some advice. I need a new knife that i want to be cheap and reliable for a go to blade as opposed to my more expensive SD folders. So i have narrowed it down to either a Spyderco Tenacious or a Kershaw Shallot. any input id appreciate.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

Click on "manufacturers" at the top of this page. You will find that both Spyderco and Kershaw have their own forums here. A quick scan of recent titles should lead you to opinions on each. Vivi has a Tenacious and had a thread about it this year on the Spyderco forum. A strange lad, but loves his blades and does a lot with them. The Shallot is pretty new and I don't remember reading a thread about it, but there might be one.

Welcome aboard.

thank, i'll take a look at both. I'm sure which ever i pick will fit in fine along with my chinook for edc

i dont think the tenacious comes close to the shallot. the shallots blade designs is awesome, its a recurved bowie with assisted opening.
