Hey guys, I'm thinking about saving (on layaway at plaza cutlery out here in socal ) up for a Spyderco tenacious, or a ladybug. I'm thinking ladybug, but might just go with tenacious. Not sure though. I am HEAVILY thinking ladybug, but am worried about not being able to adjust it.

I would say Ladybug. It's very light, compact and comes in very nice steels (VG10 and H1). IMO, tie a small lanyard on it and you have a superb EDC blade. Large enough to cut envelopes, packages, etc. and not scare away people. It also comes in several colors, too.

For the size and purpose of the Tenacious, I'd say save up for a Delica 4. Better steel, slimmer design, lighter weight.

Interesting fact: Sal said on the Spyderco.com forums that his EDC knives consist of a working prototype and a LADYBUG.

Ladybug it is!

I would buy it through an online dealer or maybe eBay. It will be much cheaper for you.

That's a weird dilemma, asking what to choose between a keychain knife and a user-knife...

might want to look into the dragonfly, it fit right in between the 2. i've concluded that the ladybug is too small (unless you're looking for a keychain knife) and i'm a fan of vg-10 steel.

Strange choise of knives to choose between since they're so different in size.

I'd think again about what you'll be using the knife for to make the decision. Big knife (Tenacious) of small knife (Ladybug) will perform totally different in different tasks nomatter what steel they're made of.

I own a Tenacious for 'big' tasks, my smaller cutting tasks are done with a SAK if that's any help ;)
Goodluck choosing, and remember, no matter which one you'll choose, you'll end up with a great knife you'll enjoy for a long time.
