Tending to an Older Knife

I've recently inherited a 1980's Kershaw Eagle.
It has a couple of small rust spots on the blade.
My question is this
I don't use the knife. Should I leave the spots there, or try to remove them.
(If I should remove them, what would be the best method for doing that.?)

I as well say sharpen it. The tip and the belly look to have chips in the edge, so factory edge or not that botches any value of the knife. I’d sharpen them out and then lightly coat the blade in silicone or oil.

You can find Breakfree CLP or Rem Oil at most sporting goods stores. It is very popular among gun owners and works great to lube and stop corrosion on knives.
