I'll be making my annual golf pilgrimage to Aiken SC next week. I think around Gatlinburg, TN I saw a billboard advertising the "World's Largest Knife Store".

Anybody familiar with it and is it worth the detour to visit?

Smokey Mountain Knife Works! Yes, definitely worth the visit. Be sure to check to see which exit it is (their website is eknifeworks.com) because there's only that one billboard.

Take exit 407 off I 40 toward Sevierville, TN. Big bulding with a blue roof on the right. There's various stores in a small shopping center behind them that you can send the family to. Plan to spend plenty of time. Don't look for Benchmades--I think they've already cleared them out. An employee there told me they had a disagreement with BM and will not be carrying them.

Hey Neighbors!! I live down near Chattanooga. Smoky Mountain is a beautiful store. There are several displays of historical knives and guns, plenty to browse and gawk over. The downstairs is mostly Kitchen cutlery (if it hasn't changed). I know that they were adding on to the buidling but goodness knows what they could be adding inside.

We should plan some kind of EastTn Knife Meet sometime!! I know there is a Hammer-In up in Bristol (Larry Harley's place) but I think it would be nice to plan a dinner or lunch meeting for folks that live nearby that just want to bring knives for a Show-N-Tell.... that would be a blast.
