A few months ago I came across a nice little white bone Congress:
It's a Northfield unXld Knife Co.
This thing drove me nuts for a while. It's obviously not a knife from the end of the 19th century. It's definitely not a GEC. It's not Chinese, the usual horror story. Carbon steel blades, nickel silver. Superb craftsmanship.
I stumbled across Tennessee River Valley Knife Association today. They owned a bunch of old names during the 90s, including Jack Knife Ben, Marbles, Northfield, etc.
In fact, it was the Jack Knife Ben association that triggered a memory. I remember years ago, probably the 90s, looking at a Ben at a show that just didn't add up. Didn't buy it, and often wished I had. I think my Northfield is one of these knives. All I have really been able to figure out is that Tennessee River Valley Knife Association owned these names and had the knives manufactured in Germany.
Anyone have any information on this outfit? Pictures, catalogues, etc?
