Tent opinion needed

Does anyone have experience with Timber Creek tents?


This is a house brand of Academy Sports and they have a 9 X 9 dome tent on clearance right now half price. $25.00

My son and I do occasional overnight campouts and we have outgrown our Coleman tent. He is a Boy Scout(working on Eagle project) and he is a believer in Eureka tents. I agee they are great but they are VERY expensive. I am thinking of a short term solution and money IS an object(daughter in college). We would probably use it no more than 3-4 times a year. Once he goes to college in two years we might not use it once a year.

Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance.

If you happen to have a Dicks Sporting Goods around, they carry Eureka and currently (at least locally) have an additional 50% off all clearance camping. They had the tetragon 8 4 person for something like $50. Also Target had some Kelty tents in the clearance section for as low as $27 (don't remember which ones).

I think that will be fine for you, a cheap poly tarp to go with it would be a good bit of insurance. Chris

Thanks for the responses. I will check the local Target but Dick's nearest store is about 100 miles. Hopefully, Academy still has one in stock.

a great site i would look for discounted name brand tents (including eureka) is campmor...

Try for a scout discount also. Never hurts to try. Most will give a discount to scouts.
